A few years ago, my husband and I thought we were ready to start a family. Because I hadn’t visited my OBGYN in a long time, I made an appointment with this specialist. I was older. So, I wanted to talk about the ways I could improve my chances of conceiving. After conducting a few routine tests, my OBGYN discovered I needed to have surgery before trying to conceive. Unfortunately, I had several, large fibroids that might threaten my life, and the life of a baby, if I became pregnant. Thankfully, the surgery was a success.
